Vaccinations

At Hackett Animal Clinic, we have a recommended set of core vaccinations for each animal species. We evaluate each patient individually to determine what is the best vaccine protocol. Any unvaccinated animal will need an initial series of vaccinations followed by annual boosters. The vaccines we have available include:

Feline Vaccines:
  • Rabies (1 year or 3 year)
    • Must be 12 weeks of age or older
  • FeLk (Feline Leukemia)
    • Kittens: 9 and 12 weeks of age, then annually
    • Adults: 2 vaccinations 3 weeks apart, then annually
  • FVRCP
    • Kittens: 6, 9, and 12 weeks of age, then annually
    • Adults: 2 vaccinations 3 weeks apart, then annually
Canine Vaccines:
  • Rabies (1 year or 3 year)
    • Must be 12 weeks of age or older
  • DHPP or DHLPP (with or without Leptospirosis)
    • Puppies: 6, 9, 12, and 16 weeks old, then annually
    • Adults: 2 vaccinations 3 weeks apart, then annually
  • Bordetella
    • Puppies: 2 vaccinations 3 weeks apart, then annually
    • Adults: 1 oral vaccination, given annually
  • Rattlesnake Vaccine
    • For at risk patients only
    • 2 vaccinations 3 weeks apart, then annually
Bovine Vaccines:
  • Endovac (Salmonella)
    • 2 vaccinations 1 month apart, then annually
    • Cows/calves/bulls
  • Vira Shield 6 + Somus (Rhinotracheitis, Bovine Viral Diarrhea, Parainfluenza, Respiratory Syncytial Virus, Haemophilus Somus)
    • 2 vaccinations 1 month apart, then annually
    • Or when calves are stressed
  • Enforce 3 (Rhino, Parainfluenza, RSV)
    • Calf 1 day- 3 month
    • High stressed calves
    • Repeat with Bovishield Gold 5 in 1 month
  • Bovishield Gold 5 FP (Rhino, BVD, Parainflu, RSV, fetal protection)
    • Best given 2 months and 1 month before breeding
    • 2 Vaccinations 1 month apart, then annually
    • Do not give to pregnant cow
  • Bovishield Gold 5 (Rhino, BVD, Parainflu, RSV)
    • 3 month old calf and older
    • 2 Vaccinations 1 month apart, then annually
    • Do not give to pregnant cow
  • Vibshield Plus L5/ Stay bred (Campylobacter & 5 strains of Lepto)
    • Best given 2 weeks before breeding
    • 2 Vaccinations 1 month apart, then annually
    • Double dosage for bulls before breeding
  • Pink Eye
    • Best given 30 days before pink-eye season
    • 2 Vaccinations 1 month apart, then annually
  • CalfGuard (Rota, Corona)
    • First born- before nursing
  • SCOURGuard (Rota, Corona)
    • Cow/heifer 7 months bred
  • Black Leg (Clostridium)
    • 2, 6, and 12 months of age or 4 and 10 months of age
  • Brucella Abortus
    • 4-11 months of age
    • Only recommended to females that are transferring to a state requiring vaccination
Equine Vaccines:
  • Rabies (annually)
  • Inovac-5 (Eastern Equine Encephalitis, Western Equine Encephalitis, Rhinopneumonitis, Influenza, Tetanus Toxoid)
    • 2 vaccinations 1 month apart, then annually
  • West Nile
    • 2 vaccinations 1 month apart, then annually
  • Strangles
    • 2 vaccinations 1 month apart, then annually
  • Tetanus-toxoid
    • 2 vaccinations 1 month apart, then annually
    • Mare post-partum
  • Tetanus-Antitoxin
    • Newborn foal and Severe exposure
  • Pneumabort-K (Rhinopneumonitis)
    • Pregnant mare 5, 7, and 9 mo
Small Ruminant Vaccines:
  • CDT (Clostridium perfringens C & D, Tetanus toxoid)
  • Staybred (Campylobacter and 5 strains of Lepto)
Porcine Vaccines:
  • Bordetella
  • Erysipelas
